About Us
Montrose Calisthenics formerly Japara Calisthenics is a committee run club that has been operating in Montrose for twenty years.
We are members of Calisthenics Victoria and employ fully qualified Level 1 coaches, who have a working with children check and first aid.
We offer classes for students of all ages and abilities giving them the opportunity to participate in the sport of Calisthenics.
Over many years we have competed our girls at competitions around Melbourne, Geelong and Frankston. We are a non Ballarat club with the emphasis on fun and fitness.
We hold an annual concert where all of our students are awarded participation medals for their years work. We also hold a wonderful Christmas party to celebrate the end of a busy year.
Parents do not have to sew costumes but are required to sequin them or pay extra costs to have them completed for their child.
Exercise
Here at Montrose Calisthenics, we pride ourselves in covering a range of Calisthenics exercises and stretches and incorporating these into our routines. We teach our students the correct techniques and methods to build their performance skills and confidence.
Friendly
We are a friendly club run by a committee of volunteers who love Calisthenics. We have parents and grandparents who help with props, costuming, fundraising and transportation, among many other things. We encourage family involvement and support students to bring along their siblings and friends to give Calisthenics a go. We always welcome new members to our club, any time of year.
Fun
We believe that having fun is very important! Montrose Calisthenics has an emphasis on our students enjoying themselves during class time and competitions. We do not pressure our teams at competitions but encourage them to have a great time on stage and to do the very best they can. What more could we ask for?
